The Exhibition and the Invisible City<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
In May 2026, my painting Suspension<\/em> was exhibited in London as part of the group Into the Fold<\/em> at The Holy Art Gallery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before the journey, I imagined London through its iconic landmarks \u2014 bridges, museums, galleries, and bustling streets. Yet very soon, I discovered that there was another London hidden beneath these familiar images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hidden from view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Quieter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A city hidden beyond the reach of tourist maps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sometimes it revealed itself only for a moment \u2014 in the reflection of light on the Thames, in the passage between the old trees of Battersea Park, or in the narrow streets that seemed to hold the memories of long-forgotten times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As if beneath the everyday London, there existed another city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A city of hidden traces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A city of atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A city that is not seen, but sensed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Everything began with the exhibition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Standing beside my painting, Suspension<\/em>I found myself witnessing a moment every artist knows well \u2014 the moment when a work leaves the intimate space of the studio and begins its life in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For months, the painting existed only in the quiet space between myself and the canvas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now it had become part of something larger \u2014 a conversation beyond the studio walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An exhibition transforms a painting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not physically, but through the context in which it is seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A work created in silence suddenly begins to live among the gazes, interpretations, and experiences of others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yet although the gallery was the reason for my visit, what changed me most happened beyond its walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The Thames \u2014 The River of Memory<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
One of the most profound experiences of my time in London was the Thames.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I watched the city from the Uber Boat as the river carried my gaze through different parts of London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seen from the river, the city revealed a different face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The landmarks faded into the background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All that remained was water, light, and the feeling of movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Thames felt like more than a river flowing through a city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It felt like the memory of the city itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It seemed to carry centuries of arrivals and departures \u2014 the stories of merchants, artists, sailors, kings, and dreamers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bridges appeared and disappeared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The silhouettes of buildings emerged from mist and reflection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The light was constantly changing, as though the river were telling a new story with every passing moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As I watched its flow, I had the feeling that London did not exist alongside the Thames.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It seemed to rise from its waters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For an artist exploring memory, atmosphere, and what remains hidden beneath the visible surface, such an experience is impossible to forget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Even after returning home, the river remained present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not as a place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But as a feeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The Spaces Between Worlds<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
While walking through Battersea Park, I felt London reveal another of its hidden layers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ancient trees formed passageways resembling natural cathedrals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some paths did not feel like ordinary walkways through a park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They felt more like thresholds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Places of transition, where one passes from one state of being into another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At moments, the noise of the city seemed to vanish completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Time seemed to slow down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The park felt like a place that belonged both to the present and to a much older time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was then that I became conscious of something that had always existed within my work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The most interesting things are often not what we see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They exist beneath the surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In traces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In memories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the atmosphere that remains after a particular moment has passed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
London did not give me a new theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It confirmed something I had intuitively felt for a long time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

When the Journey Continues on the Canvas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the exhibition ended and I carried my painting through Battersea Park one last time, I felt as though I was not leaving the city behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I felt as though I were passing through it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Like a passage that would continue even after my return home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The works created after this journey are not an attempt to portray London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
None of them portrays London's famous landmarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Instead, they explore what remained after the experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Its atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The quiet traces that certain places leave behind within us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Rain in Battersea<\/strong> It remains in my memory as a place of transition between the city and something more ancient. In this work, I sought to preserve the impression of rain, light, and the quiet movement through that space.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Down the Lane of Cecil Court<\/strong> It felt like a passage between different layers of time. This work emerged from that feeling \u2014 an attempt to capture the moment when the ordinary transforms into something extraordinary.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Touched by the Moonlight<\/strong> Throughout the evening, the Thames changed with every reflection of light. This work is not an attempt to depict the river, but rather a trace of its presence \u2014 a moment when water, light, and memory become inseparable.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
The City Beneath the City<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
What stayed with me after my return was not a particular view or a famous landmark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What remained was a feeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The realization that beneath every city there is another city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A city woven from memory, atmosphere, intuition, and quiet transformations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A city that is rarely seen, but sometimes sensed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a reflection on the water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a passage between the trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the light that changes before evening falls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Perhaps it is in such moments that art comes into being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not to portray the world as it appears to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But to reveal, for a moment, the world that patiently waits beneath its surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
