I approach silk not as a garment, but as a flexible canvas where art leaves the wall and enters the flow of human movement. ~ Lana S

Meet the artist
Lana is a contemporary artist based in Belgrade whose practice is rooted in intuitive abstraction and the exploration of the relationship between material, movement, and inner perception. Working with silk and canvas, she uses transparency, layering, and organic flows of color as tools for visual and emotional articulation. She holds a Master’s degree in Culture and Media from Belgrade and continued her artistic education in Indonesia through an international program at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI Denpasar). During several years of study and practice abroad, she deepened her work in painting, textile techniques, and traditional batik. This experience shaped her sensitivity to rhythm, gesture, and process, which today form the foundation of her artistic language. Since 2022, Lana has been developing her authorial project Lana S, through which she investigates the boundary between fine art and wearable forms, treating silk as an equal artistic medium. In parallel, her work on canvas has expanded into larger formats and series that engage with themes of inner perception, stillness, and intuitive spatial experience. After returning to Belgrade, Lana continues to develop her contemporary artistic practice through independent work, international collaborations, and exhibition projects, positioning her work within the field of abstract and process-based art.
In 2026, her work Suspension was officially accepted for the International Exhibition in London within the Holy Art Gallery. This selection represents an important international confirmation of her artistic development.

Your artistic practice stood out during the curation process and we look forward to presenting it to our international audience of collectors, curators, and art lovers.” “This work is a beautiful study of relief and monochromatic texture. It has an almost fossilized quality, as if an organic form—perhaps a bird or a dragonfly—were pressed into wet clay and left to dry over centuries. The way you have built the physical surface of the canvas with dense, sculpted paste creates striking highlights and shadows that shift depending on the light. By using a very limited palette of greenish sea-foam tones, turquoise, and sandy-yellow hues, you have kept the focus entirely on the central, elevated form. The piece is highly tactile and feels as though it belongs in the collection of a natural history museum from another planet.” — The Holy Art Gallery, London
